A New Years Message from Your SRA President and Board of Directors

A News Message from Your SRA President and Board of Directors

As we look ahead to 2025, the Saskatchewan Retirees Association (SRA) is gearing up for a truly momentous occasion — our 50th Anniversary! This incredible milestone is a testament to the dedication and passion of our members and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to support retirees across Saskatchewan. Your SRA Board is committed to making 2025 a year to remember, filled with meaningful celebrations and initiatives.

In recognition of this milestone, we have established a 50th Anniversary Committee tasked with creating opportunities for you, our members, to engage and participate in the festivities. From special events to commemorative activities, we’re planning a year-long celebration that will honor our past, celebrate our present, and inspire our future.

One exciting initiative we are thrilled to announce is the SRA Legacy Scholarships. In 2025, these scholarships will be available to family members of SRA members who are pursuing post-secondary studies. Preference will be given to those studying in healthcare disciplines focused on improving the health and well-being of seniors. Eligible fields include gerontology, nursing, public health, physical therapy, and other related areas dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the aging population. The scholarships will be open to students attending the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting education and fostering innovation in senior care.

In addition to these exciting developments, we are collaborating with Group Medical Services (GMS) to bring a refreshed and enhanced experience to our Health and Dental Programs starting in July 2025. These improvements will include a streamlined membership interface and the potential for expanded coverage options through new add-ons. We’re confident these changes will provide greater value and flexibility for our members, ensuring our programs continue to meet your evolving needs.

Stay tuned as we unveil more details about these initiatives in the coming months. From all of us at the SRA Board of Directors, we extend our warmest wishes for 2025 and look forward to celebrating this incredible milestone with you. Here’s to 50 years of community, connection, and commitment to retirees across Saskatchewan!
