Our Members- Reaching You Where You Live?

Recently the SRA Membership Committee completed a review to determine where our 6700+ members live. It’s important to understand where members reside as we consider how to engage members and reach out with information and programs.

As was expected, 4675 members live in the various cities across Saskatchewan. Of these, 2283 live in Regina and 952 live in Saskatoon. This makes up 48% of the total membership. However, there are 1440 members living in the other cities. With this distribution there are 1279 members currently with rural locations scattered across the province. It was a surprise to learn that 802 members or 12% of the total membership live outside Saskatchewan in almost all the other provinces and territories.

However, we continue to hear that you have interests in more connections with the organization. In 2014, the SRA re-launched “The Advisor” as our newsletter to provide information to you on a regular basis. The website was redeveloped in 2013 and is updated on a monthly basis.

Recent suggestions for more communication include: regional meetings, distance technology to bring meetings to your desk top computers, considering regional advisory groups/chapters to assist in enhancing two-way communications.

As your Board grapples with how to reach you and provide information, we are interested to hear from you. Ideas you may have are important to help shape our outreach initiative so that we can reach you in ways that work best for you.
